What do you mean promotional codes? The roadmap of 2.2 is already decided, but if it's interesting or it could be a plugin will include it (or for other versions!)

What I was thinking with a promotion code would be you have a code that you give out to people then they enter it into your site and get credits to use for premium ads or posting ads. The admin could set the codes the value for the codes and how long the code is valid. I think it would be a great way to attract new users and to reward existing users.

also, it could be used for discounts for example if a credit costs $0.50
then the promo code could be used that one credit can cost $0.25

I'm developing the paypal plugin. I didn't think of discount codes because it's such a pain in he ass to made them, but eventually you'll have them. What we're going to have is a in-website credit syste, in which each user could have a "wallet" and buy some credit in advance. We think of this, because paypal took like $0.34 + 2% on EACH transaction, If you're doing $2 payments (you'll receive like $1.5), paypal will took a lot from you (I'm not sure what happen with even lower prices). So you let the users the option to buy a $10 package for example (you'll receive like $9.4). For users is also more comfortable to not pay each time, instead, you make a payment and you have credit for several ads.


Discount codes will be includes, but unfortunately not in the first release.

I feel very good idea, would be useful that the script is flexible enough to change to local media, in my country recover funds from paypal is very difficult and expensive

Wow, i never noticed that paypal would be charging such a large fee. I understand if you are selling something expensive, but for us we are going to be losing a LOT of money, because how much can you really charge for an advertisement? Probably, around $.50 to $1.00 and at that rate we would be making barely anything! Any suggestions on how this might be able to work?

Oh, never mind i figured it out. We would qualify for micro-payments so we would only be charged 5% and $0.05

@horaciopelde Sorry to hear that, paypal is one of the major payment systems, as a start, we would only offer it, but adding new payment system should not be difficult.

Hey, is anyone currently working on this??? Paypal plugin is coming out very soon and this would be an EXTREMELY useful feature and a great promotional/ way to bring back old customers into using the site and not forgetting about it.
