A little annoying bug
« on: August 18, 2019, 02:29:32 am »
hello
A little annoying bug

Multiple users may have the same name or pseudo
in some cases it could be embarrassing
would it not be possible to remedy it?
Or would it be complicated?

Don't confuse name with username. Usernames are unique, names can be the same. Also, check older topics in forums, this has solutions on a theme level, since core already works fine.

Hi dev101
Thank you for your answer

I would like the name to be unique: example: two different people "John" could not be registered or post an announcement under john

I have not found on the post forum about it

Hi grisbi,
I think you can follow the same email validation procedure.
If I remember well it s not possible to register the same email twice.
I did something like that in the past and I it was not to hard.

You can display the username instead of the real name of the user. I solved that by adding a field in registration form for users to select their unique username with ajax validation. The code already exist in the project.
