<?php
 $aCategory = osc_get_category('id', osc_item_category_id());
            $parentCategory = osc_get_category('id', $aCategory['fk_i_parent_id']);

            View::newInstance()->_erase('categories');
            View::newInstance()->_erase('subcategories');
            View::newInstance()->_exportVariableToView('category', $parentCategory);
$cat = osc_category_name();
            echo $cat;

?>

It shows only 1 category name ( related of item). not whole parent categories of sites.
Also it is not clickable, Just plain text

I tried to use this;
<?php _e('Refine category', 'bender_black') ; ?></h3>
            <?php bender_black_sidebar_category_search($category['pk_i_id']); ?>

but it is also indicating single category name ( category of item), but at least it is clickable!

sorry dear i thought you were asking to print parent category name

So now your solution is

Here you GO............!

<?php
         //cell_3
        $total_categories   = osc_count_categories();
        $col1_max_cat       = ceil($total_categories/3);
         osc_goto_first_category();
         $i      = 0;
         while ( osc_has_categories() ) {
         ?><?php
                    $_slug      = osc_category_slug();
                    $_url       = osc_search_category_url();
                    $_name      = osc_category_name();
                    $_total_items = osc_category_total_items();
                    if ( osc_count_subcategories() > 0 ) { ?>
                    <span class="collapse resp-toggle"><i class="fa fa-caret-right fa-lg"></i></span>
                    <?php } ?>
                    <?php if($_total_items > 0) { ?>
                    <a class="category <?php echo $_slug; ?>" href="<?php echo $_url; ?>"><?php echo $_name ; ?></a> <span>(<?php echo $_total_items ; ?>)</span>
                    <?php } else { ?>
                    <a class="category <?php echo $_slug; ?>" href="<?php echo $_url; ?>"><?php echo $_name ; ?></a> <span>(<?php echo $_total_items ; ?>)</span>
                    <?php } ?>
<?php } ?>

if you dont want to show items count then its the code
<?php
         //cell_3
        $total_categories   = osc_count_categories();
        $col1_max_cat       = ceil($total_categories/3);
         osc_goto_first_category();
         $i      = 0;
         while ( osc_has_categories() ) {
         ?><?php
                    $_slug      = osc_category_slug();
                    $_url       = osc_search_category_url();
                    $_name      = osc_category_name();
                    $_total_items = osc_category_total_items();
                    if ( osc_count_subcategories() > 0 ) { ?>
                    <span class="collapse resp-toggle"><i class="fa fa-caret-right fa-lg"></i></span>
                    <?php } ?>
                    <?php if($_total_items > 0) { ?>
                    <a class="category <?php echo $_slug; ?>" href="<?php echo $_url; ?>"><?php echo $_name ; ?></a>
                    <?php } else { ?>
                    <a class="category <?php echo $_slug; ?>" href="<?php echo $_url; ?>"><?php echo $_name ; ?></a>
                    <?php } ?>  <?php } ?>

Yes I just wanted to print parent ( main ) category names on item-sidebar.php,
This may help to SEO for spiders ( internal link building )

But your code shows only 1 category name and repeating several times.

its look great site but your website (every page of your website) must have below 100 links

google hates links counts more than 100 on a page

i know many functions of osclass and even created my own function but all functions i can't apply

it can make google unhappy

see my website

More than 100 links is not % 100 negative affect of your site. it is a just small percentage (1%) within more than 300 SEO criterias...

Yes it is not good but another side on osclass item page showing categories / cities is helping more views of pages. Also help to easy crawling for spiders.

From this point (++++) has more than (-----),

Your question is not good..Where do you want to show all main categories and subcategories togetherly?
On main page Osclass core already listing whole categories + subcategories,

On item-sidebar it is eneough to show only main categories

Thank you very much vivekshan for the codes..actually my default menu was not working ..my site is myfootwearshop.com

You can visit my site and you will see that subcategories are not showing up ..whenever we click on categories (you can see footwear category) which has many subcategories (which you can see in desktop version ) but will not be shown up in mobile version. ...so i was planning to replace the default codes with your codes..

It seems that your category icon plugin is culprit

remove this plugin and tell me did you see that subcategories or not

One thing can be done now ..is that when click on category then it will open a page of subcategories (where the subcategory of that clucked category is placed).

Is it possible?

I think this is universal problem and have seen many questions in the forums regarding display of subcategpries on main page in mobile bender theme..

Hence now cant do toggle javascript for subcategories  and wants
when click on category then it will open a page of subcategories (where the subcategory of that clicked category is placed).

sorry for late reply

i saw your file and not confirmed about what you made changes but i want you to rollback the changes which you made earlier

just go to your theme functions.php

and from line 214 to 326

find this

if( !function_exists('bender_draw_categories_list') ) {
        function bender_draw_categories_list(){ ?>
        <?php if(!osc_is_home_page()){ echo '<div class="resp-wrapper">'; } ?>

The only changes i made were from these links and they are also visible in my codes.

https://forums.osclass.org/bender/not-working-while-clicking-on-the-category-in-mobile-version/

https://forums.osclass.org/plugins-20/category-icon-plugin/

These are the only changes visible in functions file..rest all are default.

hi vivekshan,

thanks for the help.

same thing was displayed (categories ) and on click of category ,the items under that category were displayed instead of subcategory dropdown.

any other solution for this problem?

I guess that default code wont work ( as lot of people on this forum has same question about subcategory in mobile theme)..some extra codes should do the trick (i think something with javascript toggle function ).

I tried this code but without any success ...

https://www.w3schools.com/howto/tryit.asp?filename=tryhow_css_subnav

The only change to this codes is that instead of horizontal menu ..it can be converted to verticle menu to display on home page.

Hi @@vivekshan,

The only thing which can be done now according to me is the css menu plugin and that would be converted from horizontal menu to verticle (mobile responsive).

And that can be replaced on homepage with default menu.

What.do you think?
