Free SEO Plugin

Features :

Note(*): The browsers assume logged in users as admin, if you are logged in to the admin dashboard as well in the same browser. Make sure you are logged off from the main admin dashboard while testing/adding/editing ads via Publish Listings/Item Post/Item Edit Page from the frontend. If you are logged in to your site admin, then while posting/editing item you see SEO form displayed and full control over it. It may seem the general users can also have access to this but Remember this SEO form is only being displayed to you since you are logged in to site admin.

Only the administrator has control over the SEO plugins, not the general users.

Does this tool expect normal users of classified ads to understand SEO and meta etc? :) I don't know if I would enable this for normal users

Actually you are right. This is not for the users and should not be enabled. It will create more confusion than help.

Thanks for your free plugin Osclass Wizards.
I would agree with pixellegolas & Aficionado. This feature is more admin-side related.

Yes actually normal users can also have the feature to their end but this is controlled by the Admin of the site. So it depends on the admin

Hi, does not seem to work with previous version of osclasswizard theme, both on admin and user side. It appears that some part of the theme have reference to SEO function but was not fully implemented on the previous theme.

Maybe you mixed the versions ?

Because the one i see now installed in my test system, offers to users to add their SEO titles etc etc.

Is that maybe the old version ?

Hi Aficionado, can you please post some screen shot on your backend. I just want to see what options you've got. This is the only option available to me using the previous osclasswizard theme, I always refer to it as the previous version because I forgot the version number. Seem totally incomplete for the osclasswizard theme I'm using.

The plugin should be working fine in the older version of our theme as well. Please be sure to remove the old SEO plugin we released last time which was only compatible with our theme. You may have two plugins installed and activated so there could be a conflict in codes.

Note: We Upgraded our SEO plugin not Updated so this new plugin is completely different from the previous one. If you plan to remove old plugin then your meta values from old plugin may also be lost.

Sorry, we haven't put the categories options in free version.

This plugin can put meta values only on
- pages
- home page
- contact page
- items/listings

This new version doesn't allow users to put meta values in listings. Only admin can use this. If you are seeing the SEO meta fields in front-end of Item Post page or Edit Page then you must logout of admin panel. Then you will not see them. The admin once logged in, shares the same session to a user in front-end in Osclass system.

It appears that yours is more complete, with previous theme I couldn't access the location on where to edit the SEO meta tags for pages, but it does appear on the items management on the backend, when I restore the personal changes I made on the SEO calls before in /osclass/functions.php folder.

Are you sure? Try another browser maybe or private window in browser.

We have installed the plugin in our demo site and normal users doesn't get the SEO meta fields.

I have several layers of caching, so let me check again.

You can test it
http://www.osclasswizards.com/demo/freetheme/item/new (http://www.osclasswizards.com/demo/freetheme/item/new)

Wrong alert from my side. It doesn't show to the end user.

Still i have some questions: What exactly is auto-generated as Title ? All i see the City name. No categories, no Location, no region.

Also the manual editing is useless. No admin have the time to manually add things like that to each and every new posted ad.

In item listing admin page the seo meta title, below that there is Format field where you can put the format, if you put country, then the seo meta title will for that item will auto generate the country in front-end single item page.

Please fully test the SEO plugin first.

Hi, by default osclass functions, you don't need to edit the SEO for items as it is being fetched automatically by osclass from the items description, same with the meta title, the important part actually to improve the SEO is the options to edit the categories meta description which sadly that feature belongs to the paid version, But generally this is sufficient for you to optimize your ranking on your home page and custom pages, as the meta description for your static pages can be customised by this plugin. So generally it's sufficient, but if you're a hardcore SEO fan then I believe paid version will do wonders :). Also SEO for items is not that important if your site is high traffic and you only allow listing for short period of time, my free listings is just 20 days. So it's more important for me to have the categories meta optimised.

By the way how much is the paid version?
Yes, we are totally aware of that requirement. Our premium plugin already has SEO option for categories plus we will put many other features in premium version.

We could have given all these features in this free plugin and it may not be big deal for us. But we have to think of other hard working developers too who are developing and selling SEO plugins. Their work for their plugins will go in vain if we provide their every features for free in our plugin. One developer community should also think of other developer communities as well.

So, this free plugin will contain only certain parts of the SEO features.

Thank you for you reviews, we respect and accept everyone's opinions whether they are positive or negative.
It will help us and the Osclass community grow.

Thank you.

I read from the free plugin version details:

Quote
Custom meta title with city, region, country auto generated for item.

I just don't see any auto-generated meta title Region and Country. In my test system but also in Osclasswizards website demo. The Title has the Ad Title, the City and the website description, that is 3 fields.

So i miss something or the plugin's description is wrong ?

Thanks

Hi @Osclass Wizards,

Just want to report this, when using the real state plugin the SEO option on user side ad publishing are showing on the forms. Also when I tried to delete your address attribution because it was on the form bottom, it has a nasty habit of redirecting to your website. I haven't played much on it and just restore your code to original, and temporarily disable the real state plugin. Regards.

Hi @Osclass Wizards - I made a few testing and even tried to capture some screen shots but trouble now is it redirects too quickly and go directly to osclasswizard website. But here's the step to reproduced, it appears that it is also caused by admin tools plugin which is conflicting with the session cookie, which can be ignore however it is still an issue which needs reporting.

Plugins in use:
1. Admin tools plugin to be able to login at backend and managed user account through their account interface.
2. Real state plugin enabled only on real state category.
3. SEO Wiz, latest.

Steps:
1. Login to admin backend
2. Select any listing on the frontend and login through the button displayed by admin tools.
3. Click on Publish Ad, buttton  you will notice that when selecting the normal category in which Real State Plugin is not enabled the publishing options are normal, now when publishing an ad to the category where Real State plugin is enabled, two things might happen, it will be able to display the form with added option of editing the meta tags on the user account (intermittent -  which is fine because the user who is actually logged in is admin) the annoying part which is wrong is, it will redirect you to osclasswizards site the moment you selected the real state category. I wasn't able to make a screen shot because it happened in an instant so I captured my screen instead. Regards, you tube link below:

To your theme, yes but it's just cosmetic changes like sliders, and the few errors related to cars plugins, as I've posted on Osclass wizards theme section I'm using your old theme version. Generally it doesn't change your code base as those are just cosmetics.

With regards to your SEO plugin no, I didn't make any changes, so were you able to duplicate the error through the steps I've mention? Generally, the error just appears on the section wherein the Real State plugins are activated. When you select the dropdown for Real State category it will either display the form with the added option to the user to modify the meta tag and description, or it will redirect right away to your website as I have shown on the screen capture video.

Hi @Osclass Wizards, I was able to capture it now, with the real state plugin issue and conflict with admin tools. See attached image. I re-installed your seo plugin and somehow the redirect loop was fixed, though the user side is showing options to edit the meta tags when using admin tools plugin. This undestandable because the session is still admin, but need to be fixed anyway. When using regular account all is fine though. Regards

Thank you, we will reply you with the solution within 24 hrs.

update:

Hi, the redirection happens when you remove our copy right text. And you removed the address or copyright text from the form because it was also being displayed in the frontend item publish page.
We believe that won't be a problem even it is being displayed because a normal user will never see the SEO form and our copyright address anyway. Only admin session can see it so we believe that isn't a much of a issue as it will not interfere with your site design to your users.

Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this plug-in.

Not sure if it is the way it works or a bug on my side.

When editing an item, all SEO fields are empty. I mean, I tought it should fill based on the actual info in the listing.

Example if th listing tittle is: iPAD 64GB white body, the Meta Title should be the same. The meta description should get the
first 255 characters and so on...

So I wouldn't need to edit  every single ad.

Yup, mine is showing on front end too when ading a new listing or editing a listing. IMHO it should have an option in the settings if want to allow users edit it on front end on not. Uninstalling while not fixed.

It is adding into item page (html) the following code:

Code: [Select]
<div class="seo_wizards_meta">
  <div class="logo_wizard"> <a href="http://www.osclasswizards.com/" target="_blank"> <img src="http://fotomarket.com.br/oc-content/plugins/seo_wiz/img/logo.png" alt="Premium osclass themes"> </a> <>

I'm not a PHP programmer, but if you do not want to uninstall the plugin and disable that issue, just comment out the line 122 on oc-content\plugins\seo-wiz\index.php, but it will dissable for itens on front and back end. IMHO, maybe it needs some kind of IF to identify the front and back end. Well, not a programmer. :0)

here is the issue i have its showing on the front end to users which i don't want the users to see it or it shouldn't be available to users. How can we fix it.

Please check with the original post we made in this thread. The starting post we made. We have updated about this. This is not a bug or something . Hope you are clear now

Yes, the SEO fields are empty for the items, if you just leave them empty, No Worries! Your item will have the default meta values from Osclass.

Only when you write something in SEO fields, then only the item's meta values will be overwritten to default and you will have new SEO meta values from the plugin.

Don't worry! This is shown only to admin. If you log out of admin and try again as a user then you will see nothing there and no SEO fields.

Yup, mine is showing on front end too when ading a new listing or editing a listing. IMHO it should have an option in the settings if want to allow users edit it on front end on not. Uninstalling while not fixed.

It is adding into item page (html) the following code:

Yes, it is possible and we have already built that feature but we are planning to put it in our Premium SEO Plugin. It will be released soon.

Thank you.

Hi,

I've installed your plugin alongside the AllInOne SEO (of mb-themes) but now my test server crashes.

Is it possible to run these two plugins simultaneously? Because your plugin doesn't have location seo settings, while AllinOne does....

Thanks,

We haven't tested our plugin with AllinOne SEO plugin yet. This is our free version of plugin with limited features. We are adding more features in our Premium plugin which we will introduce soon.

i wanted the plugin to automatically save the title and description for google and only edit it, when it is need. so i have modify it for my own purpose

if you want it too, replace the following two functions in your index.php from SEO Wiz like this code...

Code: [Select]

   if( !function_exists( 'seo_posted_item' ) ) {
        function seo_posted_item($item)  {

            $itemID = $item['pk_i_id'];
            $itemTitle = Params::getParam( 'seo_item_meta_title' );
            $itemDescription = Params::getParam( 'seo_item_meta_description' );

            if (!empty($itemTitle)) {
                $item_meta_title = $itemTitle;
            } else {
                $item_meta_title =  osc_highlight(osc_item_title(osc_current_user_locale()), 60);
            }

            } else {
                $item_meta_description = osc_highlight(osc_item_description(osc_current_user_locale()), 160);
            }

            $item_meta_title_format = json_encode(Params::getParam( 'seo_item_meta_title_format' ));
            $item_meta_keywords = Params::getParam( 'seo_item_meta_keywords' );

         if($run == false){
            $comm->insert( SEO_PLUGIN_ITEM_META_TABLE, $values ) ;

the only thing i don't figured out yet, is to automatically save the meta title format

maybe it is useful for someone

            $c_db = $conn->getOsclassDb() ;
            $comm = new DBCommandClass( $c_db ) ;

            $values = array(
                'fk_i_item_id' => $itemID,
                'seo_item_meta_title'    => $item_meta_title,
                'seo_item_meta_title_format'    => $item_meta_title_format,
                'seo_item_meta_description'    => $item_meta_description,
                'seo_item_meta_keywords'    => $item_meta_keywords,
            ) ;
            $run = $comm->replace( SEO_PLUGIN_ITEM_META_TABLE, $values ) ;
         if($run == false){
            $comm->insert( SEO_PLUGIN_ITEM_META_TABLE, $values ) ;
         }
        }
    }

the only thing i don't figured out yet, is to automatically save the meta title format

maybe it is useful for someone
Nice, we are thinking the same that this feature should be available for users. Maybe we shall include in future updates.

Would be glad if you assume that. And if it is possible, please integrate the automatic storage of the title format too

and thanks for this free plugin, you've done good job :)

Hi

Sorry to jump in but am using this SEO plugin and works all ok, the fields are in the actual listing page, if you go to listings->manage listings->click edit on a listing and will see the fields there such as meta title, meta description and meta keywords

Hope that helps

Yeah have to do it manually, don't think the plugin can do itself

I'll email the developers now and ask them and post a update

I'm checking this after a long time. Has anyone found a way to automatically have proper titles with this, including locations, areas,cities (without editing each and every ad) ?

Also how about automatically show the Categories metas (as configured in Osclass admin) ?

Otherwise this is only for Static Pages and Home. Or am i missing something ?

Thanks

Never mind, i figured out the code needed myself.

Hi Aficionado,

Can you please share how to automate? Does each individual listing need to be edited with specific titles, description and keywords?

Also, from so far what I know (if one does not edit each individual listing manually to update meta title and keyword) what is shows by default in the pages fro titles, meta description, keywords - seems exactly same as what they are by default, other than adding a seperator in between like * or |  - after configuring this separator and then configuring the home page title, description, keywords and then configuring the pages, when I pull in specific ad pages I see what was shown in the default bender theme except for the * in between titles.

TIA

Hi,

I'm afraid i can't.

We had someone to write a lot of code to make it automated and make it also work as we wanted with our setup (multiple countries etc etc).

Only the admin sees that. No users sees them.
