Indeed looks like there is always some delay to be able to select city, with 9 countries I can see longer delays, the demo site just a little delay for me.

Anyway, I don't think it's Osclass to be blamed here, the delays are being provoked by the browser when processing Ajax response (list of cities). Lately I've noticed quite a few issues with Firefox updates... ??? In any case, I couldn't think of anything we can do about them. :(

Teseo, we had a similar problem with dropdown when POSTING a new add.

We had to replace

Code: [Select]
ItemForm::city_select(osc_get_cities(),osc_user());
with

Code: [Select]
ItemForm::city_select(osc_get_cities(osc_user_region_id()), osc_user());
(or it was vice-versa i don't clearly recall)

as dev101 or You had suggested (it was a browser memory problem). Could that be the same problem with search header code ?

No, that wasn't a browser issue but an internal one. When you use function osc_get_cities() without specifying a region, every city in your database is retrieved (a really huge amount if you have a lot of countries).

In this case, I can see the Ajax request to retrieve cities taking the right amount of time, it's later, when the browser process the response, when this delay happens (otherwise you'd notice the same delay in any browser).

Regards

Hey I wondering if it is possible to make city disabled until a region is chosen first? I have looked up many threads on the issue and none seem to work. The problem with how it is now is that people can input a city themselves. I am looking for a way that the box is unselectable until a region is chosen. I have the same issue on the search bar and the sidebar filter.

This is not an ERROR that a probably harmless Notice. Nothing to do with your problem.

When I change the theme folder name I get an error in the admin section:

Quote
Error loading theme custom file

I want to install another version of osclasswizards but it will overwrite if I don't change the name.

Sorry, I'm using Google translator.
Users complain that the browser hangs when editing an ad.
When adding an ad, the city selection works very quickly.
When editing an ad is very slow and the more cities, the slower.
ItemForm::city_select(osc_get_cities(osc_user_region_id()), osc_user());
this code does not help much.

When editing an ad in the drop-down menu there are all the cities from the database!

If you select a different region, or country, only then cities in the selected region are displayed, not all together.
Problem exists on any site made on osclass.

Hi,

Problem is that, unlike Bender, Osclass Wizards item-post.php doens't include specific code to manage Edit, so I've cloned the needed Edit code from Bender.

You need to carefully make two modifications to your osclasswizards/item-post.php, make a backup first just in case:

1.- Regions. Locate this block:

Code: [Select]
                <?php _e('Region'OSCLASSWIZARDS_THEME_FOLDER); ?>
              </label>
              <div class="controls">
                <?php
     if(
osclasswizards_locations_input_as() =='select'){
                    if(
count(osc_get_countries()) > 1){

ItemForm::region_select(osc_get_regions(osc_user_field('fk_c_country_code')),osc_user());
                    }else{

Replace with:

Code: [Select]
                <?php _e('Region'OSCLASSWIZARDS_THEME_FOLDER); ?>
              </label>
              <div class="controls">
                <?php
    if(
osclasswizards_locations_input_as() =='select'){
                    if(
count(osc_get_countries()) > 1){
                        if(
$edit) {

ItemForm::region_select(osc_get_regions(osc_item_country_code()), osc_item());
                        } else {

ItemForm::region_select(osc_get_regions(osc_user_field('fk_c_country_code')), osc_user());
                        }
                    }else{

2.- Cities. Locate this block:

Code: [Select]
                <?php _e('City'OSCLASSWIZARDS_THEME_FOLDER); ?>
              </label>
              <div class="controls">
                <?php
    if(
osclasswizards_locations_input_as() =='select'){
                    if(
Params::getParam('action') != 'item_edit') {

ItemForm::city_select(nullosc_item());
                    } else {

ItemForm::city_select(osc_get_cities(osc_user_region_id()), osc_user());
                    }
                }else{

Replace with:

Code: [Select]
                <?php _e('City'OSCLASSWIZARDS_THEME_FOLDER); ?>
              </label>
              <div class="controls">
                <?php
    if(
osclasswizards_locations_input_as() =='select'){
                    if(
$edit) {

ItemForm::city_select(nullosc_item());
                    } else {
// add new item

ItemForm::city_select(osc_get_cities(osc_user_region_id()), osc_user());
                    }
                }else{
